You already know what whitespace is. In this article, I would like to bring up and analyze a common misunderstanding about whitespace. Sometimes both designers and clients are convinced that whitespace is just an empty space that needs to be filled as much as possible.
Headings, text, images and buttons aren’t the only elements that form the layout. There is also another element, which is pretty different from a visual point of view, and that cannot be neglected. I’m talking about whitespace or, as it’s been called lately, negative space.
